86 2.8 transmission

i dont know what the transmission is! but its an auto overdrive 4x4 is there away to adjust the trans? it slips and doesnt shift until 4000 rpm. where is the adjustments on this trans? thanks rough!

The late shifts could be due to vacuum modulator located on right side of trans. Also you need to check and make sure you have vacuum at the modulator sometimes the line comes off or breaks or the vacuum port on engine plugs up.

Yes you can adjust the second gear band and overdrive...back the lock nut off and turn the middle screw in till snug tight and back off 1 1/2 turns thats for both bands.....if you have an inch pound torque wrench you tighten adjustment screw to 120 inch pounds and back off 1 1/2 turns and tighten lock nut back down.
