85 ford ranger

ok ive got an 85 for ranger with a 2.3 i have ran it hard off roading and the past month have started driving it as a daily driver 65 plus miles a day. in the past month i have gone through 4 fuel pumps. the lifter pump in the tank. each pump last bout a week and then goes out. anybody got an idea cause im freaken lost. thanx

just wondering if you have changed the in tank filter sock, or if the P.O. messed with the fuel pump wiring?

yeah it has a brand new filter on it. i just dont get it.
