got something done then ran out of metal..

well i got some more work on the winch bumper done sat. and sunday.

what i did was cut a section out of the frame horn and bent the top tab down and welded it so it would be flat and i would have something to weld to.

then i clamped my plate up to the bottom of the top side of the frame rail and welded it to it.

then i welded some 1/4'' angle inside the frame for support.

i welded more angle up front to box it in kinda. u can kinda see it in the front on this side i dont have a pic of the other side.

im gonna plate both sides of the frame in the front with 1/4'' and run a brace a few inches back behind the winch mount.

here is how far back it will sit.

bumper idea

its gonna take a 40''x6'' plate and 4 12''x6 plates to make then im gonna put some bracing from the side in front of the tire to the frame and in the corners where it gets welded to the frame.

in the last pic where the cardboard meets the plate that all in front is gonna get cut off and ill use to to plate and make the frame stronger.

got the winch mounted today. next im gonna go get a long piece of C channel and make my bumper and the rest of my winch frame.

got my fx4 stickers on too lol

and got a new tool box for work.

thanks jon, thats as far back as i can go with out cutting the core support lol. i think the body lift might stay on for a while i might cut it down tho to 1 1/2 inch.

thanks its custom lol im gonna prolly gonna get the rest of the metal tomorrow or the next day then maybe sunday have it all welded up and ready to go.

i still havent got the rest of the metal to finish my bumper cuz money is tight and im a cheap ass lol. but i think im gonna go with some 6 inch C channel and notch and turn it and cut and bed to make it. i was just thinking what if i made some extended radius arms and put some kind of softer lift coil to get 2 1/2 inch lift on stock brackets. if this is a waste of time let me kno lol. i guess i would have to get about 2 15 inch 2 inch or 1 1/2 1/4" wall d.o.m tube for them and some kind of heim joint on the end. i have plenty of flex in the rear but the front is junk, i took out the sway bar and it handled like crap on the road and i didnt notice a whole lot of flex. im thinking its cuz the coils.

got my winch on hooked up and roller put on all that is left know is some tube to make my bumper. im gonna get a bunch of it so i can get a rear bumper going and sliders maybe. body lift is coming off next and im gonna cut the fenders a tiny bit for now till i get 33s or 35s.

man them pics suck lol ill fix them later if needed. i the winch out tonight at about 11 in my yard and i think im gonna need a bigger alternator it doesnt charge the battery as fast as i would like. what alternators would bolt up or be close to work that i could make a bracket to fit it? if i had to i could some how put 2 alternators on there and leave my stock one and put a gm one wire or something like that with a high amp output and have that go to a second deep cycle marine battery.

yea thats what my plan is body lift should be coming off soon. ill cut the fenders and make a lift some how lol. i need to get drop brackets then illl make some ra arms and get some jeep springs. i wanna do it like u did urs with a dana 35 but with 44 outters just for the wheel bearings
