Does the 7.5 from a BII swap with an '89 ranger with no problems (width)? Is it just post '92 rangers that got wider axles?

The spring pads I believe have a different width between them, and I think the BII axle may be wider overall.

Springs pads may be a tiny bit wider, I've put a ranger axle in a B2 (parts rig) without much trouble.

Yep, spring pads are slightly wider on the BII. It can be "forced" to fit, but it'll put quite a bit of strain on the leafs, shackles & hangers.

Not the answer I wanted to hear. 7.5 with 4.10 are fairly common in the BII's in the yards around here. Has anyone heard of actual breakage from running a BII 7.5 in a ranger?

Hahns, Did you just put the axle in that rig to roll in to the scrapper? Or whats the story with that, aside that it can be made to fit.

Please bear in mind I don't have a welder and don't plan on much save a simple junkyard swap.

i ran a b2 rear in my truck till i scrapped it. no problems at all. i didnt exactly move the spring pads, but i did add to them and redrill the centering hole...

If U look for a ranger with a 2.3 an 4x4 thay moastly have 4.10s I just got a 4.10 rear and front chuck cheap for my truck.

keep in mind that only autos will have 4.10's not manuals. i bought an 87 4x4 that had 4.10's and an a4ld. its got an m5od now...

BII is 1 3/8" wider and springs are spaced the same amount over a Ranger axle. Also the pinion is offset to the driver side more on the Bronco axle and may cause problems with driveshaft interference at the gas tank in a Ranger. If you have the 2 piece driveshaft it probably will work but may vibrate.
