7.5 Axle Tube Diameter

I'm nowhere near the truck,and trying to order u-bolts and spring perches for my Gen 1 Ranger 7.5 axle. Does anyone know what diameter to order?

Tech Library says 2.8", but most places list 2.75" then 3.00". Will 2.75" actually fit, or will they splay out and

not fit in the spring plate?

5/100" is 1/20". I think there is enough slop in the spring plate holes. If not a bit of file work...
