They say the powertrax lock right will work for the 7.5 only if its 4.10 and down?? Is this true, or is there a way to make it work? I did install the gears my self so im no stranger to gear set up's.

You just need to grind the ring gear tooth down so you can install a full crosspin.

^^He's right. I had to do it to install an Aussie in my 4.88 8.8.

WHYYYY do anyhting to a 7.5??? lol.

lol why cause i already installed the gears, the only real strength difference between the 8.8 and the 7.5 is the spiders. If my 3.0 could break the 7.5 again i would be rather impressed. Hey thanks for the reply!

Tell that to 036speed who has stripped 2 4.56 pinions in his 7.5 with a 2.9 and 33s. I will be selling my 31 spline 8.8 with 456s some time down the road and I only live an hr away. Search for 036speeds posts, he is currently swapping 456s into my 31 spline 8.8 that came out of my exploder since he stripped the 2nd pinion gear.

The next weakest thing after the spiders is the cross-pin and gear strength (with 4.56s).
Granted I have a 4.0, but I was only at 4.10s, with your 4.56s you should be able to do the same kinda damage.

I did blow up the crosspin, gearset and carrier that was in the truck when i got it. Downshifted on the freeway spedo went up and truck slowed down...

They were ford motorsport gears 3.73's.... Somone didnt install them right. I installed the used 4.56's myself that i got in the 7.5 now, and everything is working great.. I work this truck hard as well, but I don't get crazy with my truck. If the rear starts bouncing hard i'm off the throttle. I already twisted a driveshaft appart on the street when the 3.73s were in there.
