65 going nowhere....

how is spinning your tires at a high rate of speed on ice impressive?

for that matter, spinning them on pavement is only impressive to the..erm...simpler minded folks in the crowd. anyone that knows how to drive knows that a good hook is much more impressive than a spin.

I was wondering the same thing....

When I see someone spinning their tires at 90 mph and going nowhere in the winter, I immediately think that they're a complete moron. Then I lie in wait secretly hoping to witness an explosive tire failure, or some other spectacular sort of damage from high RPMs an no traction. :icon_twisted:

no if you see someone spinning 90 mph in th ice ....it means they are s.o.l. stuck.hahaha

What would happen if for some reason the tires all of a sudden got traction? I mean lets say you had your truck on cinder blocks and had it pegged at like 90 and then all of a sudden the blocks disapeared. would that literly just trash the entire drivetrain or would it just start burning rubber? Anyone wanna give it a try. "Hey hold my beer and watch this!"

well......that reminded me of a joke.
you know when people go ding dong ditching..they usually say hey hit the ditch and get down.
well im from kentucky and from here we say...hold my beer and watch this shit, hahaha

and yes it would probably break a u joint, strip the splines in the driveshaft. because the pr4ssure form the fall all the wieght on the rear is making it harder for the tires to spin. and its all of the sudden stoping from a 90 mph tu4n. by the way im drunk if anyone cares

I call BS. If you have an open diff and are just spinnin one tire it'll say you're going twice the speed you would be if two tires were spinnin with posi etc.

And tonight I'm wearing a strapless see-through...

Oddly enough, I don't call BS on this one...

With no harm meant

Haha...well, you were wrong anyways...I just thought I'd throw that one in because I'm not quite sure how the conversation was going...but I've never spun my tires any faster than 30-40...not good for anything other than burning up your drive train...but I guess it can be considered fun when parts start flying off the truck...lol!

i was trying to move one of my trucks once and i parked my chevy on ice and hooked up the tow strap. i put it in 4 high and gassed it, smoked all 4 tires and said daaaaaaamn(i didnt look at the spedo tho). then i realized trying to pull a 66 f100 with a chevy with no traction is not smart. my friend laughed at me after that. wish i got it on video too

That's the sort of thing that breaks stuff fast. Driveshafts, axles, transmission, etc. I was tachin about 3 grand or so in 4 lo in some swampy mud and the front tire dug down to something solid. BANG.
