6" skyjacker or 5.5" superlift

All the others are a step down.

Not saying the others are bad, but they're not as good.

So, given the choices you presented, Skyjacker.

ya but i heard skyjacker only actually lifts the truck 4.5" . so im not sure what to get

Skyjacker for sure. I got the superlift 4" kit and ive been changing over the skyjacker stuff slowly. I wish I would of went with skyjacker from the start. And the superlift springs are way way stiff and provide a ruff ride. Do it right the first time, go skyjacker.

Definitely agree. A good medium a lot of people go to is to get a 4" kit (either skyjacker or superlift) but replace the coil springs with the skyjacker 6". Smooths out the ride, gives a little more lift and flexes much better.

Brackets are the same, coils are just longer. Same thing with superlifts..

Also the leaf springs you get from superlift are the stiffest springs you will ever have in a truck. I can have 500lbs in the bed and the suspension barely moves. I need a good 1000 pounds in the bed to have it drive somewhat normal and not so kidney busting.

And like said above, its just longer coils.

If you want a true 6" lift out of the Skyjacker kit, you can always use a coilspacer or some washers under the lower spring seat to boost it up a little (some tips here). Like said, Skyjacker's coils are a bit softer than most. Be sure to get the larger Skyjacker #FA600 drop pitman arm with it though, because the arm that comes in the kit will be too short and won't correct your steering linkage angle to an acceptable level (this is true with ALL suspension lifts above 4", not just SJ).

note the Skyjacker 136s 6" spring is the same free length as my 4" Trailmasters were .

I have the Skyjacker kit and have not regreted it once.

Skyjacker springs for the RBV are way 2 soft if you have a v8 or heavy bumpers or winch. My friend went up to silver lake and when he got back his new coils sagged to about a 4" lift coil and they are advertised as 6". I honestly think Skyjacker kits are overpriced. In my opinion the Superlift brackets are very well built with good construction, and a stiffer coil can be better so the sag doesn't come.

Guess it depends on what you're using the truck for.
IMO they are still way too stiff for many uses (especially for crawling). You are correct in that they don't always measure up to their advertised lift (usually on heavier trucks like Supercabs), but like I already said above, a simple spacer or some washers under the coil seat will get it up to where it's supposed to be.

Skyjacker kits overall are very high quality (the brackets in particular). You do get what you pay for.
