5th gear vs drive?

this may be a really dumb question but instead of 5th gear, my stick has a D with a circle around it.... is there a difference between drive and 5th gear?

4th is a 1:1 ratio. 5th is an overdrive. Basically direct drive compared to gear division.

Circle mean O...as in Ohhh....as in over, and D as in drive, lol...OD is 5th gear.

It's 5th gear.

"Overdrive" was made into a big selling point on vehicles 10-20 years ago, so Ford though a symbol to show that on the stick knob would be better than a "5" (before that, almost all vehicles had 1:1 as it's highest gear)
