4x4 question

I have a 1994 4x4 4.0 with manual hubs there is a loud slow clicking noise coming from the pass. side of the truck when 4x4 is engaged any ideas

if it is just a single click right after you engage and start moving i believe that would be the hub actually locking in. in my uncles truck the wheel has to make a full rotation before the 4x4 fully engages.

Yo,
You might take a look at the passenger side axle and check the caps on the u-joints. If one or more are missing, they might be clacking around there.

And remember, on the passenger side axle, there are two u-joints, you might have to crawl in behind the axle to see the inner one.

my manual hubs started to click and pop when they blew up, which didnt take much. but you could feel the 4x4 slipping and it was very noticeable.
