4th gear only one that works

I have a 94 2.3l with the M50D-R1. 153,00 miles. Replaced the slave cylinder and clutch at about 100k. Only fourth gear is working. It sounds and feels like the other gears engage however when the I let the clutch out it does not engage. Looking at the case it appears that a good deal of the fluid has leaked out recently. There is a measurable amount of play (1/2 inch) when I move the tranny off the cross member.

You need another transmission. You've stripped all the gear teeth off the input.

thanks, that's what i figured but I wanted a second opinion before I attempt what looks to be a challenging project
