4 banger with 33's

I'm running 4.10's and 31's and I run about 3000rpm in 5th gear at 65mph, so I think it's about perfect, if you're running 4.56's and 33's it'll probably be about the same...

Hay my buddy has a 91 ranger 4x4 with 192k on its 2.3. It has stock 4.10 gears, we just put on 33in tall 14 wide boggers on it. its a dog off the line but still drives ok an holds 55 fine. Off road it turns all 4 alsome in 4low. 3rd gear will sling mud far in the air. Putting better gears in your may b good idea. hes going with 5.13s. he want the gear to pull hill climbs, an running 35 some day. but for now its not that bad..... Ive driven worse haha

I have a 94 2wd 5 speed 2.3 and I have 4.56 with 33x1250's. I can take my buddys stock 3.0 edge til about 50 mph. The only thing that sucks is the MPG and the lack of use of 5 gear, especially if it is windy.

What kind of mileage are you getting?

for 33s on a 2.3 thats driven on the street a lot I would actually suggest 4.88s. The 4.56s are ok but still a little low for the 33s. 4.56s are actually about perfect for a 31 inch tire on a 2.3 and will pull about 25MPG. The 33s with 4.88s should be about the same and 5th gear will still be useable fine on the highway.

I'm getting 12-14 MPG. The 4.56 were put on with the 30's and were awesome. I want to put new ones in, someone suggested 5.13? or something like that, but the 4.56 work for now.
