4.6 in a 2008 Ranger

Looking at putting a 4.6l (automatic) into my 2008 ranger (currently 2.3l, manual shift)

Does anyone have current information on a company making a plug and play style wiring harness for....

1. Fuel Injection
2. Transmission
3. Interior stuff such as speedo, tach, temp, etc

Before anyone suggests that I should put in a 5.0, I would love to, but here in Ontario Canada, the engine being put into the truck can not be from a vehicle older than the actual truck....meaning since I am working with a 2008 Ranger the motor must be 2008 or newer.

Comments?

Wait till your warranties over man. Your gonna void it

no one makes a wiring harness the truck 4.6 will fit easily i tried the dohc pain in the ass...waste of time

put a 5.4 from an f150

+1

Anything a 4.6 can do, a 5.4 can do better. Same basic engine with more stroke, a hard to go wrong with recipe.

Not to mention I don't think they have made a DOHC 4.6 for a couple years.

No power? You're nuts! The 4.6 F150 I test drove had more balls than the 5.4 I drove. Both were 2wd Super Crews.

Ford gets goofy with their gearing, my 5.4 with 3.31's feels alot like my brother's '97 with 3.55's, both trucks have the same 4R70W transmixer and 255/70-16 tires (oversize for me, stock for him). They feel the same that is until we start hooking up trailers... then the 4.6 buttkicking session begins. :yahoo:

if i were to do that i would pretty much go for a current 5.3 or 6.0-6.2 chevy....possibly a hemi from a car application

the gm products are just better all the way around, cost/it will fit easily compared to a ford cammer/power/economy/wiring
