4.5 diesel swap

So I've been hearing a lot lately that Ford has its 4.5L diesel motor out that they are now putting in box trucks and moving vans of the like. I was wondering, has anyone heard if the rumors of swapping out a 4.0L or a 3.0L to a 4.5L has been confirmed?

If so, is it a direct swap as I've been told? Of course not including the gas tank and fuel system, computer, ect.

the ford v8 is a 4.4....the international v6 is a 4.5


i tried gettig one of the 4.4's to no avail


gm has a 4.5 v8 , but i cant get one of those either. none are out in full product line yet and are said to be shelved indefinatly.


it would likely be 7-12 g to get a complete crate setup when they are available.



definatly be worth swapping one in just for tire fires.

I think International's 2.8 or 3.0 would be a great fit in a Ranger...

The duramax 4.5 looks like a bad ass motor. It makes as much power and torque as the old 'big' duramax's. 330hp and over 500lb-ft. if i remember correctly. and about the size of a sbc.
