4.0L Speed governor

Im lost. How did this turn into another "aftermarket sucks" thread?

aftermarket parts were involved.

but if you have ever driven a stock ranger...say cruising g town to placer, even with stock tires the aftermarket brakes are a huge improvement.

even in pool table flat detroit-if there were some bolt on brakes for the d35, i would have used them and destroyed fewer bearings and hubs, the hub is integral to the rotor with those so even stock the setup isnt overly cheap.... and sometimes they warped so bad the wheel studs came loose... good aftermarket setups like described would have had much better capacity with 35 in tires. and much cheaper in the long run.

thank you bird, you cleared that right up:icon_thumby:

LOL - Jim, the 'load sensing' that BW is referencing is the engine load calculation in the tune - determines fueling / spark, etc - seeing that our trucks don't have 'load sensors' for braking, your comments are useless.

OP, if the engine rev's fine in neutral, but seems to limit in gear, you need to start looking at a possible tune-up / MAF cleaning / clogged fuel filter / possible restriction in the exhaust (cats). The SOHC 4.0's usually have no trouble reving up to 6300+rpm in gear.

Bird

ps. There ARE aftermarket pad / rotor combinations that stop like stockers but won't fade nearly as fast as stockers..........

Thank you. :icon_thumby:

Jim kind of turned it into one. Hence, I was testing out my upgraded braking and i was noticing a weird limiter around 3500. Jim was more interested in "trying" to put me in my place with his "technical racing" talk. Let's hope Jim does not work in the Sales Industry. You will loss all your sales due to being to technical.

My truck stop's on a dime, My truck stops 40ft from 65-0 better than it did. Deal with it. Pulled my plug's 3 of them were fowled, Replaced, Problem solved. Thank for "everyone's" input on theses subjects.

Next subject.:icon_thumby:

things i take for granted. i always assume one checks plugs when things start running bad.

if they are fouled in the classic sense then theres some other likely mechanical issue thats gonna foul em again. if fouled you mean the electrodes were worn off your probably fine
