Got a 97 4.0 and didn't really get a true answer on a cat back flowmaster would sound and make the truck run. Had a chevy 350 w/ a flowmaster and got spoiled w/ it.

my friend had a nissan xterra with a 40 series on it. sounds like a hole in the exhaust. but my 95 s10 with a 4.3 and a delta flow 40 series sounds like a 350 when i rev. go with either a magnaflow xl series muffler or a delta flow 40 flowmaster.

what will make a 4.0 sound like a v8? i know it will not sound like a true 8 but close would be nice.

i put a flowmaster 40 on my 01 4.0 and it sounds sweet. i ran it out before the rear tire with a 2.5 pipe and a 3" tip

youtube it. sure someone has done it before. ive never personally heard a 4.0 with a blowfaster.
