150,000 miles on my 93 explorer 4.0. oil pressure went to 0 at idl so i hooked up a mechanical gauge and this is what i got. what can be wrong?

dont know how to post videos, the gauge reads close o at idle and 25 pounds at 2500 rpm. how do i post this video so i can show whats going on?

If it reads o with the mechanical guage, you have a problem. Could be several things. The best of which is the pressure release valve in the oil pump has went away.

would it be worth trying to flush the engine? Is it possible to pull the oil pan without pulling the motor in a 1993 explorer 4x4, it looks pretty tight. Any suggestions would help me out alot, i dont know what to do and the funds arent there to take it in.

i got a feeling your gonna have to take the tranny or the motor out to take the pan off. or atleast seperate them. i doubt if flushing the engine will do anything though

I'd pull the camshaft syncro and see if the oil push rod is broken. I had a 95 exploder come in the shop the other day that had broken theirs off cause the oil pump had locked up. Just a thought

If the shaft broke i should have 0 psi at all times because the camshaft syncro runs the oil pump right? I have OP at higher rpm, but not enough and at idle its really bad. Anyone know how hard it is to pull the camshaft syncro to see if it is broken? Any help with more info. on this camshaft syncro will be very helpful to me. Thank you very much

Dunno about the cam sync, but I do know that that engine must be pulled to remove the oil pan.

Best of luck to ya
