4.0 v6 dependability

i will be glad to at least hit the 200k mark. my goal is in sight. how does a 5.0 compare in durability to the 4.0?

My 97 has 303000km's, not too sure what that is in miles though.I have had to do the upper intake gaskets a month or so ago, but so far not much else to the engine other than tune up parts.

bought mine with 213000 and just hit 219000 not to long ago and still running good!!

next ranger has to be a 4.0

hey kkjb4x4.0 i did the conversion, and 303,000 km is a little over 188,000 miles. still good though.

I bought my '03 with about 158k miles. Now I've got 161k (I don't drive much). Runs quiet except for a slightly rough idle, no oil burning. I hope to get at least 200k.

I don't hesitate to push it when I feel like it. It responds well. If it wasn't so old I'd throw an EE blower on it. If it ever dies I'll find myself a used engine with low miles and keep going. I love this truck!
