4.0 sohc difference?

I was readin a couple of places one being the wiki i know its not the most accurate but it shows a exploder haveing 210hp and 253tq? And the ranger as 207hp and 238tq anyone know of a difference maybe in manifolds or compression or something?

What year explorer? Most likely engine tune is what makes that difference in a couple horse and a couple foot pounds...


On the mustang, some parts are different....tune, TB, intake. On the early SOHC in the Explorer, the intake is a poor design, different than Rangers with the SOHC in it. When the Ranger got he SOHC, the Expo changed their intake to the same as a Ranger.

Yeah, the rangers and explorers have different tuning. The explorer gets a more aggressive tune for hauling 7 people and a trailer full of crap.

is it possible to switch a ranger engine and Computer to the Exploder tune settings

So if i buy a x3 sct tuner it should net gains which is bettrr that or a superchips cortex?
