Hey guys i have been have a problem with my 1998 ranger 4.0 4x4 Automatic.
It has been throwing one code for months and i cant figure out what the problem with it is.

The code is saying that the fuel is too rich. I have already changed the MAF sensor, O2 sensor, plugs and fuel filter. I am left clueless. I have spent aboout $350 and nothing worked. If anyone has any answers please let me know.

Did you let your computer reset? IE, disconnect your ground for a while once you changed these. Is your IAC working correctly or possibly plugged?

Yea after every fix. Light turns off for about a day then turns back on and the shaking starts again.

You should run it by a shop and get the codes checked. They can tell you if your o2 sensor is working properly. Check the connections for everything you changed.

i had the same problem, but mine turned out to be a misfire

Okay thanks guys ill try those out. Still looking for more suggestions.

Do you have a mis fire code?? If you have a cylinder not firing due to spark, it is gonna be rich because your injector is still sparying fuel in there. If it is bank 1 indicates too rich then your problem is in cyl 1-3 (passenger side). If it says bank 2 indicates rich it would be either 4-6 (driver side).
