4.0 running like a motorcycle out of gas...

OK

Josh,

I knew it! You're ok in my book. (not that you care about my book)
Sorry I don't have any technical input to this thread, as I just drive my '93 stock until something breaks, then fix it (after driving it broke 'till inpspection).
I've had a dull Memorial day weekend, and for some reason this thread caught my eye.

Ok I'm done.

Bought my Ranger used off a lot, ran fine when I got it but a couple months later started misfiring a little, decided to check the wires and 2 of them just fell apart in my hands, the end at the cap was burned thru, pulled the cap and it looked like it had a bunch of sand in it. New wires, cap and rotor made it all better..I'd get on that freeze plug tho, had one on my 2.9 go bad, tried one of those universal rubber ones but there's not enough space between the outside of the block and the inside wall of the water jacket for it to seat properly. Blew it out twice and overheated real bad both times. Put a real one in but it was too late, a couple months later it was getting antifreeze in the oil and it went TU a short while later.
