So I was wondering I'm using a 4.0 Rad for a 89 5.0 in my 85 ranger it runs about 210 on a hot day I'm not concerd about that just wonder if anyone is useing the same setup and what temp do they ran? Thanks for any input

I've got a radiator from a 92 4.0 in mine with a 180* thermostat. I've never seen anything over 180 degrees.

im useing from a 92 explorer too i havnt changed the t stat yet but its got the original clutch fan with the thermo deal i was just wondering if the 4.0 rad is big enough to cool the 5.0 beast, ill try changing to a 185 or 195 t stat

ive got the 4.o rad infront of my 302 its got a 160 thermo and a 16in eletric fan moving something like 1650cfm and i run between 190-216.... hydro coil doesnt like it very much... im trying to figure out why or what to change... maybe remove thermostat???

I've got the stock '97 4.0 Rad in mine.
I was being cautious, and have a 160 deg thermostat. It runs way too cool, I'll swap a 180 deg in this week.

You have something going on there. There is no reason the 4.0 rad wouldn't cool a 5.0. It's been proven many, many times already.
