4.0 explorer coils DONT LIFT

I have a 94 2wd, std cab ,long bed ,2.3 4 cyl,5spd & i put 31x10.50/15lt tires on Jeep Cherokee wheels & I wanted to lift the front a little & heard that front coils from n explorer 4.0 would lift a rangers front end. I went to the bone yard & got a set of coils from a 93 explorer 4dr 4wd & on my way back home I stpped in a level parking lot & measured the front end in the center of the wheel well opening. I went hme & did the coil swap & then went back to the same location in theparking lot & measured again. IT DIDNT LIFT THE RANGER EVEN 1/8th OF AN INCH.

Where did you hear that?
The 4.0 coils from the boneyard were probably sagging anyway, you oughtta get some F150 coils or some coil spacers

If the Ranger 2wd coils are anything like the 2wd coils from a Bronco II... you're right... because the stock 2wd coils in my BII WERE 2" lift coils. Only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with the thickness of the beams (ttb beams are taller than tib beams).

Of course, there is also the possibility that the Explorer coils were sagged out...

i had no problems with mine. bought a new set from lmc truck for 80 bucks. got about inch and a half

the explorer only had 86,000 miles on it ,so dont think that they would of sagged with only that amount of milage & it had street tires on it & was stock condition

There is one thing wrong with this.....If you got the springs from a 96 Explorer and it didn't lift it, it is because a 96 Explorer has torsen bars not coil springs.

I was wrong on the year it was from a 93 ,but still it only had 86,000 miles on it

Mileage is irrelevant. Depending on the use, that explorer could have been as worn out as some car with 300,000 mile on it. Coil spacers are a better way to go IMHO.
