31s with 4.10s

So I'm running a 3 liter with 4.10 gears and want to know if 31s will give me any grief. I have checked the charts in the tech section and it looks promising but i wanted to check with some people with experience first.

Unless you're junkyard shopping for 4.10s, go 4.56.

4.10s are perfect for 31s and a 3.0 that's what I was running a couple of days ago b4 I bought my 33s, I offroad quite a bit and I have 0 complaints, 4.56s are a little low for 31s

Not for a 3.0 they aren't, they do better with a bit more RPM.

i run 265/70/17 or 32'' tires on my 4.0L and i have 4.10's in in my fx4. With a 4.0L its about as sluggish as i'd want it. with a 3.0L i'd think that it would actually be kinda sucky but not undoable.

how much top speed could he possibly lose? if you can hit 75 that should me more than enough for a ranger. im contemplating 4.10 or 4.56. leaning more toward 4.56 since i never drive over 65mph.

i turn like 2800rpms at 70ish mph with my 32's and 4.0L im not sure the 4.0 would be to happy running over 3k all the time

I'm at about 2500 rpms going about 75, I like the the 4.10 31 3.0 combo but if your not a speeder 4.56s would be great and even better offroad

igot 31s with a 4.ol and 3:73 gearing
