31 Spline 8.8 Sway Bar

I bought a 3/4 or 5/8 bar about 6 years ago for the 93 4x4 I used to have. I think I bought it through summit. Still have it, its on my ranger trailer, helps a lot with a load of dirt.

I think it was only the 2wd BII that got the 1" bar.

No idea why only they got it, I have never even seen a 2wd BII.

I can’t tell you if it was only the 2wd BIIs that got the 1” bar... but I can tell you I found my 1” rear sway bar under a 90 BII 2wd, stripped down base model XL w/ a vinyl bench seat, no roof rack, no outside tire carrier, no options other than an automatic.

Have you ever considered traction bars?

Lightly.

Someone mentioned them awhile ago, someone else expressed doubt about how well they work being mounted above the axle and it would be better to DIY :dntknw:.

I do have some wheel hop in 2wd so if they worked it wouldn't be too bad I guess.

I haven't got back to it, I did find this which indicates ideally I would need a mixmash of both kits.

I don't think a sway bar will help much with wheel hop, but traction bars should.

Yup. Sway bar made no difference that way and I knew it wouldn't.
