do you guy think $500 is a good deal for a 302 that was rebuilt and has 351 heads and a roller cam, but its been sitting since 1993 and never ran since it was rebuilt

Not sayin its not true, but SAH STRANGE!

If it's been rebuilt & lubed good, along with rotated & oil pump primed occasionally to keep things free.........it should be alright!

Spin it over with a breaker bar and see how tight it is. If the block was prepped well(vatted,new cam bearings etc).If it is a roller with lifters and the works....theres your money back.

it is my grandpas engine so iam going to pull the heads and make sure there is no rust inside but it never ran since it was rebuilt

I'd sure check out a few other things if it's been sitting that long. Was it well oiled down before storage? Rings stuck to the bore or pistons? If it's still on the stand, flip it upside down, pull the pan and check there also. Without lube for that long, crank seals and a few others might not be good to use. Things tend to take a set after not moving for that long. Sounds like a good buy but sure check out the internals, even new.

Damn, your grandpa's that tight? He can't just GIVE you a motor that's sat up for that length of time?
