I want to keep my column shifter in my ranger, but it doesn't seem to want to get along with the setup on the AOD.

I was wondering if it would work if i swapped the linkage from the A4LD to the AOD? and if im already in there doing that would the throttle cable linkage setup also swap over and work as it should?

what are you using for an intake, i used the f150 intake(which may go to carb if i can the fI wiring figured out), so i used the f150 throttle cable and the TV cable from the 150(didn't use the A4ld cable), as for shifter im thinking of using the art carr from bronco graveyard, but the stock looked like maybe u could drill the ball bracket out and bolt it to the AOD and either adapt the a4ld bracket or make a new 1 to hold the linkage.

Did the 150 have a cable shift? I took the shift lever assembly off of both transmissions and pressed off the portion of the lever the cable attaches to from the a4ld. When i tried the same thing on the AOD transmission it was heavily corroded and it snaped. So i think it will work, i just need to heat it up next time. I ordered another from a local transmission shop. They soaked me for $30 for it.

Oh well i need to have it since i broke the other one.

just the t.v. cable, the actual shift is a rod the mountes to the frame rail on the 150, but the shifter is setup like the a4ld if i remeber right, with the t.v. cable on top and the shifter level pointing down, unlike the cars AOD which are reversed
