I’ll have to get some pictures. Pretty much done with it now and pretty sure it’s stupid over-engineered. I’m pretty much to where I need to make up the boom pole for it. I have a like 8’ bit of 2”x2” 0.250 wall tube for the pole. The idea is to attach it at the top link of the tractor. Seems like I have two options for that, a weld on top link tab, or a threaded top link piece that I could weld nuts into the tube. Not sure which is the better option. Hopefully someone has some input. I’ll bore a hole in it where it needs to meet the trailer mover brackets and put a bushing in the hole. Not sure if I’ll need to put a reinforcement strap along the top of the pole or not. Seems like most boom poles have that feature but most aren’t that heavy of tube either. Kinda just been using what I have for this so far.

It likely wouldn't hurt to add somewhat of a truss over the center pivot, even a short piece of tubing with some rebar going front to back would be enough.

I’ll see about some pictures this afternoon. Been working on the F-150 but that’s done for now (hopefully). This is the next thing I need to finish, then I need to get started on the dump truck. Might even test out using it to move a trailer around the property today. So far I’ve bought the pins and bushings. Everything else has been steel I had here. The 2” receiver I bought a few years back. Technically I did buy all the steel, but I’m not really counting that because it’s been sitting here not being used, lol

Heres my boom, just a tsc model I got used, Ive only used it once, to lift up the mowers so I could scrape the decks out. We had a homemade one years ago at the farm, no truss but was a overkill-heavy pipe.

Here’s what I have so far. Apparently some calculations were off because it doesn’t stay vertical but tilts as it goes up and down a bit. Oh well. I was going to make the boom pole so it can be pinned in place of the top link and either in the position where the top link currently is or the hole above it for extra lift. I did pit a pin in the hitch before using it today. My pins didn’t want to fit so I had to adjust the handle on one of the pins with a 4# sledge until it fit right.

Same, works awesome.

I've done a ton of stuff with it, moved engines, cultivators, axles, pulled fence posts... incredibly handy thing to have.
