You got it other then power to the computer and splicing a few wires, I have a wiring diagram to the 84 T-bird that you may need to help you out I can e-mail it to you if you like, got it from my libary. It doesn't need any of the emission things to allow it to run. I have the o2 sensor and the EGR pluged in but it doesn't have a vacumm line controling it. You dont need the vacuum pump, or other things. I'll can post more detailed pictures of my set-up if you want, they will be put in my build thread. Or go to my build thread, the link is in my signiture, and look at what I did so far and watch the video of it running, it was idling high at the time but thats all fixed now
You need the harness going into the driverside of the firewall but thats it. The original BII computer and harness isn't needed.
It doesnt just need a pulse to to know when to fire the injectors but also needs to know when to advance and retard the timing. The computer also controls the idle. At a set RPM the injectors go from opening and closing to staying constantly being open and the more throttle you give the more open they get.
I'll say that my set-up came out of an 84 T-bird that had an automatic trannsmission. When I put it on my truck it runs great. When I give it some gas the engine RPM goes up likeit should but when I let off of it the RPM's stays there for about 2-4 seconds then drop back down to idle. I think this has to do with it being programed with know it was made for and auto tranny and not a manual like my truck is. I'm not concred, hell I use it to my advanted when going to take off, when I can actual drive the truck legally and not just around my block.
Another advantage is it starts right up everytime and really not much time is need to wait for it to warm up. My dad likes the set-up so much that when he gets the money we are going to be getting another system and doing it to his only we might try to find one with a manual tranny and see if that will avoid the high idle thing it does.
I you have anymore questions about this, I'll try to answer them.
