Whats the biggest tire size I should run on a 3.27 gear ratio? I really don't want to have to change it right now but I want some bigger tires. will 31's or 32's be fine?

i wouldn't dare on that gear set... it already feels weak in my bro's ex w/ stock tire sizes.

really? The stock tire isn't that much smaller then 31's tho. It seems fine when I drive it

guess i'm just used to 3.73's and 30's.. idk.
try it. and if its not enough- consider hard of if you wanna regear to 3.73 or LOWER(numerically higher)!!! IMO, a regear would have to go to atleast 4.10's... or its pointless.

how hard is it to regear to 4.10's? I know everyone on here says there the best but I dont have a shop to do any of the work and not tones of money.

you could always junk yard hunt for another gen 3 ttb with 3.73's(4.10's if your lucky) and pull the rear end and 35 center.

gears you MIGHT could find used on here. i payed $75 for my 8.8 gears on here used.

the process is somewhat crucial, is the problem. if you don't get the gears set right, you ruin your gears.. it was never hard to me. just work slow and check everything multiple times. look it up, there's writeups on here and other websites about how to do it. it does seem tricky.

That seems like way more work then i'm capable of doing. I'm not a very skilled mechanic hah.

Engine: 4.0 v6
Class: 4x4

no problem with a 4.0.

wont be racecar-ish, but it will do ok....may spend more time in drive.

Is it something that I could do myself the first time without screwing everything up if I looked up instructions? or do I need to find someone experienced to help ?

but my bro has that in the ex. and it just down right sucks IMO w/ stock tires. not low enough for any offroad unless you plan on 4low all the time

what's your plans for the truck? that'll change the numbers some to.

for your first- i'd say find a mentor..

Well it's still a daily driver for now. I don't have money for another car but I'll be off roading most weekends. when I have money for a different car I plan on doing a sas with long arm and stuff but that wont be for a couple years. and thanks

of course everything i have said is just my opinions... i've been wrong before! lol.

just buy the tires you want- see what helps. if you don't like it, regear. if it doesn't bother you, roll w/ it!

Well I am assuming you have the automatic? cause I can tell you 31's and any lower then 3.73's it going to be a pain with a stick shift. Your either in one gear or another unlike the auto that goes smoothly through the rpm's so heavy tires are much less noticable and 225's are about 3" shorter then 31's

stock tires on mine are 235 which is only a little more then an inch. and its a stick
