3.0to 2.3

Ok I just got a 2000 ranger I'm trying to find out what I have to do or need to know to take my 3.0 out and put in an 83 svo motor in I have the the motor comp and all the wires out of the svo I do not have the tranny can I use my tranny out of my 2000 ranger 3.0or do I need to git one out of a 2.3 ranger or what do I need a tranny from it's an auto truck but I want to make it five speed I just dont want to if I cam got away from it for now I have a Honda civic with an ls vtec turbo runs 12s I want my truck to beat it and still be able to drive it any time to do what ever so any thing u can tell me will help never worked on a ranger don't know much about them I got the truck for free and the motor for 150 so I wound like to make this work trany in my truck is also new so I would like to use it
