3.0 to 4.0 swap

I have 93 RANGER with the 3.0 v-6 with the 5-speed tranny. Im trying to find out how hard it is to swap out a 4.0 v-6 out of a 97 explorer. the 4.0 runs good the 3.0 does not run at all.

Motor mounts, Radiator, the engine, computer, wiring harness and a new tranny to fit the 4.0. 3.0 uses a different bolt pattern than the 4.0.

Spudz, does a C4 tranny mate up to a 4.0 l engine without any adapters?

C4's don't come with overdrive.


The truck already has the clutch facilities, and the M5OD is reasonably durable. I'd keep it manual.
