3.0 to 3.8?

a friend has a v6 mustang with only 68000 on it. he says he'll give me the engine dirt cheap. hes pulling it to do a v8 swap. is it possible to pull my 3.0 and swap this in? will it be a big difference? most of all is it doable? lol thanks

There is a write up on this swap in the tech library. It takes a lot more to swap this motor in than just jerk the old one. It is similar to swaping in a 351, just minus the front 2 cylinders. Check out the v6 forums, there is a whole branch divoted to the 3.8 and 4.3 essex motors.
It is a great motor bullet proof motor, it will just take a little time, and effort to put get it into your truck.

The RWD 3.8 has a different bellhousing pattern than your 3.0.
