3.0 sound

I have a magnaflo and high flow cats and 2.25 tail pipe for about 3 years and I thinks it sounds great for a small V6, and its not annoyingly loud. There is really no reason, unless you are turboed or super charged, that you need pipe any bigger than 2.25". No offense to any one but a flowmaster sounds like ass on anything smaller than a V8. My almost ten years in a custom exhaust shop I have heard alot of different setups.

yea i had an 97 4.2 v6 with straight pipes and that souned like crap atfirst it was sounded good and it sounded good on the inside but the outside well yea i have no clue what size pipe they put on it poped and backfired when you let off so i dont want that again and like i said im not looking for performance just something better than stock

I have a 01 3.0 I removed the last cat and replaceded it with a high flow cherry boom cat from there i used 3" piping to the cherry bong box its just like the 40 S flowmasters with 3" all the way out. you need to make sure you have the back presure you need so you wont loose fuel economey but get the maximam amount of horses. It will give you the sound you want and sound amazing and it wont wake up the kids if you feather the gas leaving the house in the morning. A big plus if you have kids.
