Got a quick question, Will the downpipes from my 3.0 bolt up to the manifolds on a 4.0? I have the ones from the 4.0 but was just wondering if my 3.0 downpipes would work.Same goes for the motor mounts, will the 4.0 mount on my 3.0 motor mounts or do i need the 4.0 ones?(i'll have the buy new 4.0 ones if thats the case, the original ones were shot).

I don't know if they will mount up to the 4.0L but you will need either the motor mounts from the 4.0L or 2 left side 3.0L motor mounts. They both need to be moved up the chassis, the holes are alreadt in the crossmember, and the 3.0L right mount won't work in the new mount location.

You'll need a different y-pipe (down pipe), the catalytic converter and other exhaust will work.

As for the motor mounts the, the driver's side is the same, but the passenger side will need to be from a 4L.

I actually have a passenger side motor mount from a 4L Ranger in good shape from when I was going to do the swap. PM me if you are interested.

hrm, well i have everything from the donor except the motor mounts because my idiot friend torched the mounts when i said i wanted to keep them. I'll probably just get new mounts anyways. I've got the downpipe also but i was just wondering if the 3.0 ones would work because the passenger side flange on the 4.0 downpipe is a little messed up where the stud goes down through and i dont know for certain if the flange where it bolts to the cats is good or not because again, my idiot friend torched the flange off the 4.0 cats and i dont remember if cats slid into the y-pipe or if the y-pipe slid into the cats. Guess when i get around to tearin everything apart i'll find out what will work and what won't.
