2wd to 4wd

hey that is cool! little more into it than a gen one two or 3 4 wheel drive swap....but cool!

Now I could definatly live with doing a 800 dollar conversion but sounds like you know many more people than I do and have more resources than I do :(

Im glad you posted this, i plan on doing mine towards the end of the year. Im going to go a little bit different route though and use shift on the fly 4wd hope fully. I work for ford and programing the modules will be easy. But im a little more interested in this wire your talking about.

I am curious to know if it would be easier for me to use an older (manual) setup as mine will not have any real ride height. I currently have an 8.8 (3.73 w/LSD) and a 2.3T motor as well that I am getting ready to convert over to my 96 ranger. My application is a bit unique I suppose but I know others have managed it. I want the 4wd simply for the traction in inclement weather, not serious off-roading or anything else. I have the time and a lovely little relationship with the bone-yard to pick from.

So really now I am just wondering if I were to use the needed parts(?) from an older gen 4wd ranger, explorer, or whatever, would that simplify the process at all? Or would it not make a difference at all using parts from a newer model... just don't know.

If anyone has any supportive info it would be much appreciated.

putting IFS into a TIB truck seems like a lot of custom fab work... your best bet would be a straight axle from a jeep or something along those lines..

Hey live the swap been wanting to do that to my truck and can u post a list of parts and what model amd year the donor parts came off of please and thank u

Considering that this thread is incredibly old and the original poster is banned, I think you are a little out of luck...
