2wd to 4wd gear box

i have an 89 b2 4x4 that needs a new ps gear box and i have a 87 2wd ranger thats my parts truck can i use a 2wd gear box on the 4x4 as long as i put the 4x4 pitman arm on the 2wd gear box? thanks for eney help.

All ranger power steering boxes from 1983-97 are interchangable.

As well you can add all bronco2's, 1991-94 Explorer and 1980-1996 F-series/full size bronco steering boxes.

the only thing that changes is the pitman arm.

THE box to look for if you have a choice is an F350 ambulance
steering box, allegedly they were offered with a unque (faster)
gear ratio, but I have no physical proof of this.
