Quick question... I have been thinking about lifting my 2wd ranger to the same ride hight as a stock 4X4 ranger. I looked at the tech library for the differences between said trucks. Other than the 2" block in the rear axle is there anything else that is different? Specifically the front... Thanks.

you have a arms in the front you can buy coils for the front for a 2" lift

I do have a arms in the front of my truck, but which coils do I buy for a 2-inch lift?

On 98 and newer Rangers the 4x4 Rangers got a Torsion bar front suspension. Also the Edge and Trailhead 2wd models got Torsion bar front suspensions, which can be lifted just the same as a 4x4 (crank the t-bars). I've heard a rumor that Sport models have it too, but I'm not sure.

If it's A-arms and coils you may be able to stuff a 2" lift coil in there. Or you have to go with a spindle lift or a different set of A-arms and coils. Fabtech was the brand that made a bunch of that sort of stuff, not sure if they're still making it or not.

In the rear, standard 2wds are the same as a 4x4 minus the 2" lift block. But Edge and Trailhead 2wds got lift blocks, IIRC. IMHO, lift blocks are a poor choice for lifting. I'd rather do a Belltech 6400 drop shackle and/or changing/modifying the leaf spring pack.

I did a custom leaf pack in my Ranger, when I first put it in I had gained about 4" out back, but after it settled in I figure it sits at a solid 2" or slightly more. And when I'd load it down it wouldn't sag to the bump stops like before, so it worked well for me. I could change the pack around and probably gain up to 5" out of the pack and another 2" with a shackle if I wanted. But I've retired it from regular work duty so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. (lift or lower)
