I have a 99 ranger xlt supercab 2wd with spring code DK. I would like to lift the front 2-2.5" so that the truck sits somewhat level with the 3" blocks that it has on the rear. I am going to replace the front springs because they feel weak and I am curious if there's a spring from another model ranger or another vehicle for that matter that will fit and give the lift that I am after. I know that I can use coil spring spacers but I would really like to find a longer spring. Any advice would be much appreciated.

seems like the only option is spacers or taller aftermarket springs(lift springs)

Its a 99 so its torsion suspension... correct me if im wrong

its a normal 2wd so its coil spring susp.
trailhead's were torsion bars. along with 4x4

Tanks

Thanks,

Does anyone know what the spring codes mean? Is there a chart somewhere?

Im not sure but i think the spring codes relate to the stiffness and not how high they are. i am not positive though

If it is 2wd, I would not bother lifting it really. Level it out and call it a day. Reason behind that is that it is 2wd and will not be able to follow the 4x4's per say. I thought about lifting mine, I still might, but I think it is not really worth it. When I part next to other stock Rangers, I already sit a little higher. Just my .02 though. Good luck on your search.

I take my lifted 2wd out on trail rides a lot. I follow al the 4wd trucks and there are a lot of lifted 2wd trucks that go out trail riding. I don't do the mud crawl...that is for boneheads who want to spend hours cleaning their trucks...lol. Not me. I have never been stuck in my truck. Sand, dirt, over rocks (not huge rock crawling of course...that's 4wd). I love the ride in the woods. I have a front receiver hitch and a 9,000 winch and mount I take along to move downed trees out on the property when I go out for a weekend. I have owned lots of 4wd trucks and Jeeps. All of my 2wd trucks and 4wd trucks I lifted. They just look really nice if you do them right and make them safe.

:agree:

ive been stuck with mine tho :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl:

Stuck

yeah i've definitely been stuck in the 2wd as well, mainly by being stupid, but not in the BII, I drove that thing thru freshly plowed cornfields with standing water, stock height with 235's, I miss that truck. Anyway, I'm just after leveling out the ranger. I just bought this truck and I think somebody tried to lower it by cutting the springs and now it sits crooked...., so I figure that with 162k the springs could use a refresher. Not planning on playin in the mud with this one, just a work truck.
