2wd 351w

351w is a great motor.
More power and torque than a 302, and can use most 302 hop-up parts because i's pretty much the same block. Only about 50lbs heavier, and has torque in stock form from the basement up.

351c-great power from about 4000rpm up
351c-4v totally different story AWESOME motor for the street, immense valves!
351M great engine wih serious mods power band is high because(like 351c) of bigger valves (2.?? intake)
400, same as the 51m with longer stroke, good torque motor at higher rpm.
351w great all-around motor because the size of the valves and bore/stroke compliment each other very nicely to produce torque and horsepower at useable RPM ranges without needing any 'unusual' mods togearing etc.

Ken.

First off, 351W is a strong engine. The Cleveland had heads with exceptional flow from the factory (almost too much for 351 cubic inches), but Windsors can do equally well with a different set of heads. As for driving it like a 4 cyl, it can have sharp throttle response and wind up with no problems given decent valvetrain. My 83 Ranger has a 351W, C4, and a 9" rear end and gets the piss ran out of it at the dragstrip.

Installition is not that bad. For exhuast, I wanted something better than stock manifolds, so I made my own headers. I ordered the SB Ford header flange kit from JEGs, some J bends and went from there.

Enjoy.

I am finishing up my 351W project slowly but surely. All i am needing are the fuel lines and
some electrical hookups. I have put 302's in before and did not see any real difference.

As Project said above there is less of a header choice but it'll be worth it in the end.

Totalled, yep thats mine. It scoots along ok.
I'll be back at PIR in a month or so, making a few changes to the Windsor to get into (hopefully) the high 11s. The goal this season is to start picking on corvettes.:taunt:

If you want the extra power you want the bigger engine for sure. Not even trying I squeezed off a 13.3 quarter @ 107mph with this.....
