nah i never put the carpet back in it, i ended up selling the truck a few months ago but i was putting it together as a prerunner so all the carpet was gonna do was hold the dirt and sand.
ya there was alot of debris under the carpet, there is a hard coating that ford puts down as well, thats what all that red stuff is, it kept chipping away in a bunch of different areas.
i dont think i would do it all over again, id much rather find seats that were a direct boltup. it wasnt hard or a horrible pain putting these in but when it was all said and done sitting in the drivers seat perfectly straight i wasnt centered to the steering wheel as it put me off to the left. i couldnt slide the seats inboard anymore due to the trans hump. i suppose if i built brackets from scratch i could have but i just modified the probe brackets to work.
also since the seats sat outboard some the door panels would touch the seats when they were shut. the drivers seat was power so you couldnt go but so far forward or the drivers door wouldnt close at all cause the switches stuck out some. it didnt matter for me cause im 6'1 however for anyone shorter this could of been a problem.
it didnt really bother me much cause i was turning the truck into a prerunner and it wasnt a dd or anything and the same with the person i sold it to, im sure it wont matter to them either but if it was a dd im sure it would of been annoying. the door panels touching didnt bother me near as much as not being centered on the steering wheel.
