2035

If you're going to come to class, it helps to do the reading...

The article you cited is crystal clear that this is expected to be a temporary spike based on natural gas prices. Coal has been on the way out for many years already, and there's no reason to expect that trend to change (temporary ups and downs not withstanding).
Yes it does and I didn't read 'temporary' into this statement: "The EIA said the rise of coal generation in the United States "will most likely not continue."
Most likely is not temporary? I view it as a guess or a desired outcome, not a determinant?

Because I don't think the way I'm expected too? That is one of the signs demonstrated by those hell bent on 'Think like I do or you're a RACIST'.
I certainly hope this doesn't devolve into the IH vs John Deere controversy.

Apologies and I hear you. I was listening to two people debate the 2 party system and one made reference to the 'wigs' and then the Tea Party. What I'm trying to understand is where things took a U-turn. The 2 party system has worked so well for so long, where and why did it go to hell?

Worked well is a relative term lol. It may have started out great... but its evolving into nothing but a two headed beast that leaves everyone a loser in the end.

It's just a viscious snowball cycle, the way I see it.

By this point in time the parties have made names for themselves.. so to speak.. by either consistently supporting or NOT supporting certain hot button issues, right??

The popular belief (and ever increasing reality) is that Republicans are generally gonna try to do things like protect your guns, not give money to illegals, and try to ensure women and queers don't have rights.

The democrats historically (by this point) are going to things like try to limit what kind of gun and how much ammo you can own, waste a load of money.. but still try to ensure that everyone gets the same fair chance at having a prosperous life.

The 'lesser of two evils' mindset is a huge driving factor to how disgustingly partisan we've become as a nation.

Even politicians need to be running pretty much lock-step with their party mates, or else they risk getting canned and replaced with someone that WILL.

This is why todays politician has zero reasonable hope of changing this country for the better... because changing this country for the better will require telling the other members of your party that you disagree and that they're power hungry scumbags.. they'd be out of a job.

...cut...
The rest of your posts are rapidly devolving into politics, which is an area we're all better off staying away from.

I think we're on the same page however, I got a shot across the bow and need to 'bow' out from continuing this discussion. Lord help all of us (if religion isn't banned here too ;))
That said, I'll be watching Tucker tonight just the same :)

My observation is the complete disconnect of logic in the "My party/guy is good BECAUSE your party/guy is bad."

kubottttaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

But yeah off the politics I suppose.
What will likely happen is prohibiting registration of ICE vehicles after a certain date of manufacture. Washington (state) has already put that idea forth.

Is that 'after' supposed to be 'before'?

Regardless of if they start restricting ICE registrations or not.. people not being able to buy NEW ice passenger vehicles after 2035 is going to upset their used car market an incredible amount lol.

Source of power is also very location specific. I live very close to the border of Kansas and Missouri and their sources of power are very different

Kansas:
"through 2021, when wind accounted for 45% of the state’s total net generation. Coal supplied 34% of Kansas’s generation, with the amount of coal-fired electricity down by about one-third from a decade earlier. The state’s one nuclear power plant, Wolf Creek Generating Station, accounted for 15% of electricity net generation in 2021. Natural gas-fired power plants contributed 5% of the state's generation. The rest of Kansas’s electricity generation came from solar energy, petroleum liquids, biomass, and hydroelectric power."
.

Missouri:
"In 2021, coal provided 74% of Missouri's electricity net generation, the second-highest share of any state, behind only West Virginia."
"In 2021, renewable energy provided nearly 12% of the state's total electricity net generation, exceeding 10% for the first time. Compared with 2020, the largest increase came from wind energy, where generation capacity more than doubled."

ALERT!

WE DO NEED TO KEEP POLITICAL VIEWS OUT OF THIS.

I'm shooting for moderator of the year...

It entitles me to use freely use the TRS private jet. I'm sick and tired of snoranger and my little Lego buddy having all the fun.

Just trying to constructively stir the pot to get us onto something other than politics lol.

My bad gentlemen.

So you try bringing religion into it instead? :icon_confused:
