TRS Event 2025 TRS Fall Colors Campout

I didn't map it but it looks like it might be an hour and a half, two hour drive for us. It depends on the roads and how mountainous that section of WV is.
Google Maps says 4 hours but I find that hard to believe.

There is also traffic calculation in there. That being said, I know there have been times that it seemed like we would never get out of WV because of the roads we were on that took us through small towns, stop lights were all over the place, and the speed limits were low and variable.

Hmmm. Starting to get some good "maybes" and "proablys".

Where's @fastpakr and @James Morse . They're pretty close to this one.

That's right. I'm not afraid to name names.
That's not particularly far - I've been to Cass a few years ago.

The real trick is finding time and a place to work on the truck. It's just taking up space with a long to do list these days.

There's a good bit if "non-interstate highway" driving. Plus, distances are deceiving there. What looks like 10 miles straight line distance is more like 20 miles of driving because the roads are really wrinkled up vertically and you can't see that on normal road maps.

Bump to refresh everyone's memory. I need to make reservations for this one as of yet.

And we might have Jessica's daughter riding long. So, I might be bringing the trailer for all the camping gear.

I’m going to try to make it. Possibly a plus one. It’s all up in the air at this point. I need the green Ranger fixed and back on the road before I make any firm plans. With all this rain and being dragged 7 ways from Sunday about all that has happened to my Ranger is it’s been used for tool storage.

I am planning to go. We will see where finances are at the end of summer

Sounds great. It has been in my mind recently to update this thread. Life has been busy for all of us. My surgery really threw my life into a different mode for a while. Plus, I've been trying to get a lot of major changes accomplished in preparation for the Vagabond trip to Colorado in August.

I think we have a good bit of time yet before we need to get serious about campground reservations. However, if you plan on riding the historic trains, you should think about reserving tickets for that as soon as possible.

Train reservations are booked for the 3rd and 4th. So, it's either the 2nd or the 5th. One would definitely want to make reservations sooner, rather than later. At least for the ride linked in the first post.

Thank you for that update.

I'm changing your username to Sgtreservation.

I'm in. The campground told me to mail a check. Not worried about going on a train ride.
