2024 Ranger

Super crew will have optional 6' bed.

But supercab will either not be offered, or offered only with 5' bed?

From what I read... no supercab at all.

Looks like a fully boxed frame. Are the current gen rangers this way?

Seems much more robust then the OBS ranger frames. W/ the tall skinny C channel. Not that there were too many issues with those frames tearing apart.

I believe the current Ranger does have a fully boxed frame. I was too focused on getting the task at hand done to pay attention when I was last under it. So, it is possible my memory is fuzzy.

The more I look... some say no supercab and some say yes.

I guess we will find out... sometime.

No Supercab with the 6-foot bed would very much disappoint me.

Hey it only took Toyota 14 years in the current design Tundra to offer a 6 foot bed with their crew cab, so I guess maybe in 14 years Ford might offer a 6 foot bed for the crew cab Ranger LOL. Not holding my breath on anything at this point as they continually change things up on what seems like a weekly basis LOL.

I assume they'll keep the 2.3L 4 cylinder as the only engine option, unless they go full electric soon, and wouldn't be surprised if they go down that road sadly.

I wonder what they did for corrosion protection on the fully boxed frame? Toyota learned this lesson a few years ago.

make it airtight & fill it with grease, cant rust from the inside out that way.

F-150's have had boxed frames since '04...

Ford Authority expects the 2024 Ford Ranger to be offered in the SuperCrew cab (the one with four full-size doors) and an option of a five-foot or six-foot bed. Though not confirmed, it’s likely that the SuperCab option (the one with full-size front doors and two rear half-doors) will not be offered in the U.S. or Canada.

That bites, Id rather have a supercab. After several years with a old reg cab/longbed I really like having the longer bed.

I know you said you were looking towards the Tremor package. That package doesn't come with the supercab 6 foot bed. Total bummer.

I was just playing on the build and price tool... just to see where I might land if the super cab is gone in 2024.

Looks like they mention a 3L Ecoboost V6 but only for the Raptor, seriously, offer the engine across the board, even though its a turbo at least a couple more cylinders will help a bit when you have a trailer or load in the bed and up in higher elevations, even the turbo 4 cylinder probably would struggle a bit when loaded up at higher elevations. A V6 in an XL 4x4 with the 6 foot bed might get my interest, the 4 cylinder does not LOL. Yeah, I know it ain't nothing like the old stuff, but still, its a truck, put an engine under the hood for a truck rather than a car LOL.

I was hoping they'd offer the extended cab still, I really don't have any need for a crew cab pickup, the super cab would be plenty, and mostly get used for storage of tools, and stuff like that, definitely ain't for a people hauler the crew cab still don't have much leg room for anyone other than children.

I will probably end up buying a 2023 FX4 and build the suspension equivalent to a Tremor if the Super Cab is dropped in 2024. I may have access to a pair of Tremor rear springs from a friend. Ford performance has a kit that is supposed to be very close to the Tremor suspension minus the rear springs. I am also considering doing Bilstein shocks on all four corners. I found out Fox recommends rebuilding their shocks every 50K miles to keep them functioning properly. I have used Bilstein shocks for many years and like them very much and have learned they are good for 100K to 150K miles. I have about 180K miles on my current front Bilstein shocks and can tell they are starting to show a little degradation in performance.

The 2.3 is a whole lot more trucks than the 3.0 is...

Ours runs really good, it would give my 5.0 F-150 a pretty good run for its money.
