My credo
A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
I had to go get a new washer and dryer yesterday and in the process of unloading someone (my wife...who i asked 4 times to leave it alone ill get it) decided to use my rear sliding window as a brace for her ass to try to slide a 300lb cardboard box across my rubber bed mat.

The window itself is fine but the top track has seperated in the middle from the main window. It looks like ford used some sort of two sided tape (obviously another bright idea) to sticky it up.

If safelite wants a mint to fix it what can i use? Or best way to fix this?

If it truly is double stick tape.

That's the good stuff. I've used it to hold more than one mirror glass back on the head till the spring rusted out. (About 8 years.)
Thsts what i bought after some research. I guess its a common issue.

Ford does some really stupid shit at times.

It says to apply it when its above 65*....does it have to stay 65 for cure time or just initially? Box doesnt say.

Warmer the better, but I've put it on the mirrors below freezing. Just had the tape inside and warm first.

And cure time is stick and ship.

Alright. It was just the two stickies on each side of the slider that came loose...the others are holding good. Ill get some alcohol and clean it up good and hit it with my heat gun for a few seconds before i put it on. Ill probably just stick the new in closer to the slider away from the old to avoid having yo try to clean the old shit off.

If the rest of it fails ill pull the whole track off, clean it, and run a strip the entire length.
