2016 Yamaha Wolverine

I just ordered an Rugged Radio intercom system for my RMAX. I got the interface cable to go with my Midland GMRS radio. According to the description, it’s voice activated to talk between the driver and passenger and push to transmit over the GMRS.

They have a pretty good sale going on right now... I saved about $500 on all the crap I bought.

That thing is pretty cool. I like that you've got a music input too

I don’t normally listen to music when I’m riding... I didn’t want to be that guy who annoys everyone with a loud system. This may work out good.

What really sold me on it was the direct link to the GMRS. On the last trail ride, I couldn’t hear anyone or anything on the radio. At least now I can hold a conversation with my daughter (90% of the time she’s in the passenger seat.) without having to stop on the side of the trail to hear her.

I ended up getting a hard mounted system for the buggy, same kind of issue - can't hear anything and don't really want to wear a headset for it yet.

What does the interface for the midland radio look like?

It’s just a cable. It plugs in to the mic and external speaker ports.

I installed a front bumper today:

I like that bumper and the way it wraps around to help protect the plastic fenders from rock and roll over damage.

I’m sure I’ll test the fender supports strength against some trees.

As most of you don’t know, it very common on these machines for the upper floorboards to be made of plastic. This area is right behind the front tires and takes a beating with rocks and branches. Occasionally, pics of a branch punching through the plastic and hurting someone shows up online. Today I installed steel plates to help stop that from happening:

Since I was already outside sweating, I figured I’d install the rear high clearance control arms:
