2011 Okie roundup

October 15th? That is definitely a no-go for me. :-(

I'm flying to DC for a childhood buddy's weddings that weekend. *rolls his eyes*

Even though it's a 9 hour drive (one way), I'd still do it. It's taken me 7.5-8 hours just to get to the southern part of Texas!

I'll be checking back with you Okies for other meet dates though.

Pete

The eagles aren't supposed to be back until november. Clayton is the 15th. I'm not going to make it down there this year. Maybe next year.

Maybe we could do something the 1st or the 8th over there.

Discuss.

Pete, I've made that drive many of times. Its 7 hours from Conroe to my house. Not sure where you live down there. Just throwinn that out.

Hm, if that's case, sounds good. Stillwater isn't too far from Tulsa.

I live maybe 30-45 minutes away from Conroe (which is north north of Houston). 8 hours is still doable. I think it'd be a blast.

And for the record, what are you talking about? The eagles? (How is that relevant?)

There is a little wheelin spot next to Lake Keystone. The eagles also nest there. When the eagles come back they close it down.

There is a wheeling spot that gets shutdown when eagles migrate. There had been talks of going there but I am not sure if that is still in the running.

Late September, Early October is best for me. I start traveling again on Oct 3rd. Will likely spend more time away than at home till after ther first of the year.

I see a lot of talk about below Keystone dam. Does anyone know anything about Appalachia Bay (also at Keystone Lake)? I've never been and don't know if it's ATV/bike only or if any off road vehicle can go. It may be an alternative in the unlikely event the eagles show up early.

Ok ya'll........ How bout October 8th, meet in Mannford around Noon and go to the nearby ORV trails?

What kind of trails are around there?

I wont be able to make it October 8.

Ok, I'll call it. I will be at Sonic in Mannford at 10:00 AM next Saturday (Oct 8). I do not know exactly where the trails are that have been mentioned but I do see some trails below the damn on Google Maps. I'm sure we can figure it out from there.

That's where they're at Tulsa Time. You might stop or call Sam's Off Road and get directions from Coby.

As for type of trails...it's mostly sand with a few trails and and small hill climbs on the south side of the place.

I will not be able to make it as I will be working and as of now the BII is sitting on 4 jack stands with the front end sitting of driveway in front of it. Have fun guys and post some pics of your fun.

Steve

I'm not going to make it either. Got some work to do on some vehicles.

Appalachia bay is atv/motorcycle restricted. I believe it is a 50" gate. I take my atvs out there often, but dont think I could get my rzrs through the gate.

Below Grand Lake Dam in Disney, Ok is a pretty cool place to wheel and rock crawl. Lots of mud though.
