I got a new 2008 ranger fx4 and i am looking for a 5" lift kit but i cant find anything larger than a 3" does anyone out there know of anything that will work for me ?

Iv got a 2002, and the same problem. i can find body kits, but i feel like almost all decent suspension kits stop around 1999 or 2000. but what kind of lift are you looking for? if its just body, you can use buy a 3" and add hockey pucks :icon_thumby: but if your into keeping it nice, idk what to tell you

they dont usually make body lifts larger than 3" because you start running into problems with wireing harness slack, shifter clearences, ect ect. not to mention its unsafe and looks retarded.

pony up the cash for a real suspension lift. or do a combination t-bar crank and 3" body lift (that would net you 5" total).

The RCD site says it only makes it till 2003. I don't want to do a body lift either if i was going to it would only be a 2" or less. Not to found of the look of body lifts.

The rcd fits, but you have to put on the smaller brake rotors found on 03? down.

I checked out super lift but the site is not working but they are showing a 5" lift for the 08 ranger. Would i still be able to keep the same size rotors? I still have 5 years of full warranty left on the truck but ford is letting me do the lift anyways.

5". Really?? The superlift is all drop brackets for the torsion bars. Its doesn't replace the front suspension like RCD. They can void your warranty if they can prove that what you have done to the truck caused the failure. If you are looking for just cosmetic get the SL kit.

The RCD kit is a drop bracket kit also.ck.The "coil" overs thats look to come with the kit look like someting of a stock car/roundy round car.atleast in these pics.Have seen a few on the street that were just bilstein 5100 type of shocks with a coil spring stuck on them.More like a strut if you ask me than a "coil over"

you can find alittle more here on TRS, in the techlibary, link at the top of the screen, then got to 4wd lifts.

for about a grand more total, you can get the dixion brother's kits. The only true performance kit I know of for the A-arm rangers.

for the shocks/coil overs you could always go with FOA to keep the price down vs the FOX shocks. This kit would give you a much better resale value of your truck too over all....

here's alink for the coil overs...http://www.F-O-A.com
AS for ford warrnty, its all up to the dealer for the most part.some dealers are cool and relax, some are just shity. The extened warranty is were it can become a nightmare. As the companys the hold the warranty can be real nit picky. There is were a cool dealership can really help. And push for you to get your truck fixed. Ive been there.........my advice is to spend a day across the street and watch the truck that come in to get serviced.IF you see lifted trucks, modified mustangs and such, you got a really good chance of a cool dealer.....if you see nothing but stock factory cars and trucks.....your changes are not as good.

like the dealership down the road from me, they dont care what you have done within reason.....the one on the other side of town, will try and void your warranty for a bug shield.

Isnt the Dixon brothers a 15" lift. So RCD i would need smaller rotors but it changes the suspension and super lift would allow me to keep the same size rotors but does not change my suspension set up.

I think that is the amount of travel. What do you want to use your truck for after you lift it?? Mild Off Road, Pavement Princess.....

LOL no but i do use the truck for work so it will be seeing more pavement but i do dirt bike and i want to take the truck out to and have some fun with other buddies who have lifted trucks and jeeps

So when it comes down to it what would be the best lift kit for me. I have been hearing Dixon Brothers, Superlift, and RCD i have talked to people who have 3" lift kits and if they could do it again they would go bigger i am looking for something around liek 5" lift.

With RCD i would need to go with the smaller rotors from a 2003 but what is the SL kit a 1" body lift is fine with me but i would not do anymore than a 2" body lift. With the Sl kit are you able to keep the 2008 rotors.
