Hey all,
I am new around here, and I have searched but I haven't found what exactly what I am looking for. My 04' Ranger has 32s on it, and my speedo is a little off. I used to have a jeep and I had a chart with the axle ratio and the tire size gave you a number, which would be part of the part number for the speedo drive gear.

Now, on these trucks can you swap out the speedo drive gear for one with different speed to correct the speedo? Or does it have to be done with an electric box?
Thanks.

BUMP.

I got a speeding ticket for doing "13" over, my speedo showed 6 over. Really would like to know how to adjust this &@)! thing.

I just did the math to see how far over mine is then i adjust my speed and I haven't gotten a ticket yet

Your truck does not use a speedo gear...it uses the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) which is part of the ABS system to calculate your speed. You can have a Ford dealer recalibrate your speedo to your tire size.
