Well after 231 thousand my automatic 2.3 transmission blew out. I was wondering what other transmissions will bolt up to my motor. Im not sure if the older 2.3 bell housings are the same. I know the 2.5 are the same. any help would be great thanks.

2.5 bellhousings are not the same (The 2.5 bolt pattern is the same as the OLDER 2.3s -- 1997 and older). The newer 2.3s (2001+) have their own bolt pattern and nothing else will interchange with them.

alright thanks for the info man. Now the hunt continues. I finished up putting me 92 f350 crew cab flat bed dually together so that I have something to drive till I fix the ranger. The transmissions for the newer 2.3 are hard to find here in florida.
